Bibli shipped two literacy apps in 2 months

Bibli's founders are former Teach for India educators who saw the literacy gap in classrooms firsthand. They had a no-code prototype and no engineering team, so we onboarded contract developers within 2 weeks.

The Challenge

A no-code prototype and no engineering team

  • No technical co-founder
  • Flutter app development
  • Bootstrapped budget
  • Prototype to launch fast

Bibli's founders spent years teaching in underprivileged communities and saw how unevenly quality literacy resources reach children. They wanted to build an app that was engaging and affordable.

They could not find a technical co-founder, so the first version was a prototype assembled with no-code tools. It proved the idea and could not carry it to a real product.

Bibli was bootstrapped. Agency quotes were beyond their budget, and a permanent engineering hire would have taken months of runway before any code was written.

How We Did It

Contract developers onboarded in 2 weeks

Agency quotes did not fit a bootstrapped budget. Given the stage Bibli was at, we recommended contract hires over full-time roles, took the brief, and had developers onboarded within 2 weeks.

  1. 1

    Prototype to funded MVP

The developers turned the no-code prototype into a functional MVP that Bibli used to validate the idea and secure initial funding.

  2. 2

    Gamification and teacher tools

The team then built gamification elements and teacher-specific features into the app.

  3. 3

    Contract, not headcount

A contract engagement meant Bibli could ship without the cost and the notice periods that come with permanent hires. We handled the employment side of it.

In Their Words

So we have two versions of the app, one for students, and one for teachers. And a lot of the things I could not have handled just using a no-code platform was done by Shubham and Kirti. The experience has been quite smooth, honestly.

What happens in hiring or contractual engagements is that you are often disappointed by the quality of people and work. But Flexiple was able to get me the right kind of resources, at the right kind of budget. As a bootstrapped company it is always challenging to build a product with quality resources. Flexiple understood those challenges very clearly and provided me the right resources.

The Impact

Two apps live, 1000 users, 5+ schools

Bibli released two apps in 2 months: one for children and one for teachers.

The student app targets English learning for low-income children, and addresses the specific barriers they face: limited exposure to English, overcrowded classrooms, and a shortage of qualified teachers.

Teach With Bibli, the teacher app, lets teachers assign literacy activities, pull assignment reports, and review student activity data.

1000 users have been onboarded since, and 5+ school partnerships followed.
